At Moonlit Hollow Books, we believe books have a way of bringing people together. Through partnerships with local businesses and community spaces, we’re creating more opportunities to discover a new favorite read, connect with fellow readers, and make books a bigger part of everyday community life.

We’re Alie and Monica; lifelong book lovers, best friends, and the co-founders of Moonlit Hollow Books, a locally owned independent bookstore rooted in York County, Pennsylvania.
We met more than a decade ago and bonded almost instantly over our shared love of reading, the kind of deep, late-night book conversations that turn into friendship, laughter, and plenty of “you have to read this” recommendations.
Like many lifelong readers, we both took breaks from reading when life got busy and motherhood became our focus. A few years ago, we found our way back to the page and fell in love with stories all over again.
That rediscovered spark inspired us to create Moonlit Hollow Books: a way to share our love of reading while creating more opportunities for people in our community to discover books, connect with other readers, and support local businesses along the way.
Our books are carefully curated around the stories we love most: thriller, fantasy, romantasy, romance, and dark romance. We’re drawn to the books that make your pulse race, your heart ache, keep you up too late, or transport you somewhere completely new.
Alie gravitates toward dark thrillers, horror, and a touch of romantasy, while Monica is drawn to lush fantasy worlds, heartfelt romances, and edge-of-your-seat thrillers. Together, our different tastes help shape a collection that celebrates every side of storytelling: the mysterious, the magical, and the emotional.
Today, you’ll find Moonlit Hollow Books throughout York County and at select community partner locations beyond the county line. We’re building relationships with local coffee shops, breweries, and other gathering spaces to bring books closer to home, while creating opportunities for readers to come together through structured book clubs, silent reading gatherings, and unique bookish experiences.
Moonlit Hollow Books is more than a bookstore. It’s a friendship, a passion project, and our way of creating a little more space for books and the people who love them in the community we call home.
